The resort was built in 1995 and last renovated in 2018/19. The exterior, softened by a smattering of chestnut and fruit trees and traversed by winding paths, mirrors the rural architecture of the region’s picturesque whitewashed villages. Expect typical Alpujarran-style clay roofs, adobe floors and exposed wooden beams.

Each of the 53 apartments, distributed over four floors, has its own bathroom, fireplace and private balcony offering panoramic views over the national park. Facilities include indoor and outdoor saltwater swimming pools, spa suite, gym, squash court, bar with capacity for 190 guests, banquet hall seating up to 200 and children’s play area. A lift in the entrance lobby gives access to the upper floors, and there is a large parking area for guest use.

The hotel has been maintained to a high standard of technical specification, with recently upgraded electrics and a latest-generation, low-emission gas boiler. Its doors, windows and fencing were replaced during the most recent renovation, and the kitchens and indoor swimming pool were completely remodelled. All necessary licences for hotel use have been obtained by the current owner, and the hotel also holds an activity licence.
